SARDINIAN SEA SAGA

Boat tour along the Gulf of Orosei

Few places anywhere in the world match the splendour of the Gulf of Orosei, a glorious stretch of coastline, studded with dozens of pocket-size bays, extending for forty kilometres between the small port towns of Cala Gonone and Santa Maria Navarrese.

Here the rocky mountains of the Gennargentu massif drop precipitously into the aquamarine waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea, creating a parade of wondrous vistas. Rugged cliffs topped by deep green forests rise steeply “out of the blue”, chalky slopes split open to reveal dark otherworldly grottoes, ivory pebbled coves and azure waves gleam in the bright Sardinian sunlight. Lap up the matchless scenery of the island’s eastern coast on this unforgettable sea saga.

Meet your skipper at the Port of Cala Gonone, hop aboard your private boat and set sail for the alluring coves of the National Regional Park of the Gulf of Orosei. With the exception of a rich population of aquatic life, the area is still completely uninhabited and has remained untouched by the rapid spread of urbanization. These remote, immaculate inlets are indeed only accessible by boat or arduous hiking trails, a fact that has contributed to the preservation of this unspoilt environment.

Your skipper will steer you past the most breathtaking sights and make sure you don’t miss the highlights of the glimmering gulf. You will drink in views of Cala Luna, a seven-hundred-metre-long paradise ranked among the most stunning beaches of the Mediterranean, and marvel at the ever-changing hues of turquoise and cobalt blue of Cala Sisine. You will also admire the picture-perfect setting of Cala Biriola, nestled between high limestone cliffs, and soak up the enchantment of Cala Mariolu, once a favourite bathing spot of the monk seal. And last but not least you will gaze up at the 143-metre-tall pinnacle that looms over the dream-come-true bay of Cala Goloritzé.

Your skipper will schedule different stops for swims and oversee the preparation of a delicious light lunch that will be served on board.

Relax to the sound of the lapping waves and enjoy the refreshing sea breeze as you glide along the sun-kissed coast of Sardinia.
