Speed-up your Roman vacation and get the adrenalin going on an exciting race driving spree. Budding Formula 1 pilots of all ages will feel the thrill of driving a go-kart around an outdoor circuit located in the countryside near Rome. This experience will allow both grown-ups and children to test their driving skills, receive valuable safety tips, discover how real pilots achieve great performances by balancing speed and control and engage in a fun family tournament. Many Grand Prix champions kicked off their careers by karting. Could this be your vocation too?

If this outing doesn’t quite seem to meet the expectations of culture vultures intent on seeing the sights, you might like to know that the Romans’ passion for speed was paramount. Have you visited the Circus Maximus? The remains of this ancient chariot racing stadium lie in the valley between the Palatine and Aventine hills. Back then the sport was massively popular and frequently drew crowds of up to 250,000 spectators eager to witness the hair-raising exploits of the racers. Our love of speed on the track may well derive from the ancient Romans!

You will meet your private assistant and driver outside your accommodation and set off for the countryside south-east of Rome. Friendly, expert technicians will be waiting for you at the go-kart track, ready to give you a briefing and teach you the basics of karting. Young pilots will be provided with gloves, helmets and tracksuits and be instructed on how to make the most of this activity in total safety. They will learn how to hold on to the steering wheel, take a curb, when to accelerate and brake.

Then settle behind the wheel of your Honda 200 go-kart and start rolling! Adults and children will enjoy the emotions of driving like real pilots around the 8,55 metre x 10 metre track which will be reserved just for your group. Take turns racing round the circuit and check out your times with the chronometer.

After the experience your chauffeur will drive you back to your accommodation in Rome.
