Fizz up your vacation on this full-day trip to the Prosecco wine region. Wine lovers will pop the cork on the secrets of Italy’s most famous sparkling wine and enjoy a tasty meal at a local restaurant.

You begin your day with a relaxing ride from Piazzale Roma in Venice to a highly esteemed winery, set on the premises of a former silkworm spinning mill. The estate was set up in 1949 by a visionary, forward-thinking winemaker who firmly believed in the potential of his native Valdobbiadene to create extraordinary wines at a time when many other farmers had lost hope in the wake of the devastation caused by World War II and abandoned the countryside to seek their fortunes in the cities. A lifetime dedicated to his vineyards led this winemaker to become a leader in the research and development of Prosecco and its sophisticated style. As an ardent supporter of the Charmat method and an intuitive experimenter, he was the very first to produce a Prosecco Brut in 1960. Today the successful winery is run by the founder’s four daughters who have maintained their father’s original values and principles. Producing high quality wines, promoting this territory, investing in sustainable agriculture and funding humanitarian projects are at the core of the sisters’ mission. On a tour of the winery, organic vineyard and cellar guests will gain behind-the-scenes insight into the activities carried out on the estate, discover which grape varieties blend in Prosecco DOCG designated wines and learn about the techniques used to enhance the crisp, fruity aromas and fine perlage of their bubbly elixirs. A tasting of four wines will allow you to savour the outstanding results of some seventy years of constant commitment.

A delicious lunch will then be served at a nearby restaurant, set in a finely restored and decorated 20th century farmhouse.

In the afternoon more effervescent surprises await you at another well-established estate, founded in 1979. The cantina is set on a hill, in a splendid panoramic position, offering gorgeous views of the neighbouring grapevines and the surrounding UNESCO-listed landscape of Valdobbiadene. Twenty-six hectares of vineyards are cultivated with the local Glera grape variety and expertly turned into a fine range of bubbly wines. Passion, hard work and unstinting dedication have been rewarded with first-rate wines and prestigious accolades from enthusiasts both locally and abroad. Accompanied by a member of staff, you will explore the cellar, get to know about the wine-making process, from hand-harvesting to bottling, and learn about the characteristics of the soil and climate that make Proseccos produced here so special. Top off your visit with a tasting of the estate’s fragrant, racy wines and a toast… cheers to Veneto’s spumante!
