In the afternoon, at around 5:45 PM, meet your private driver at your accommodation, sit back and relax on the ride to a renowned wine estate. The property is set in an enchanting location, beside an ancient abbey still inhabited by the monks of the Vallombrosian Order. The premises belong to a prestigious Florentine family with a long history of wine-making. Indeed, their association with wine began over six centuries ago, in 1385, when one of the ancestors became a member of the Winemakers’ Guild of the city of Florence. After twenty-six generations the owners still maintain their reputation, both locally and abroad, as leading and forward-thinking producers, capable of balancing innovative decisions with a steadfast respect for tradition and the territory.

Here, on a visit to the vineyards and historic ageing cellars located beneath the monastery, you will get to know about wine-making and ageing methods, become familiar with the particular features and regulations that define Chianti Classico and discover the unique characteristics of the terroir and climate that make Chianti wine so special.
